Tobey Sanborn has always had a passion for both the restaurant industry and seafood. In 1993, he moved to Providence to pursue a degree at Johnson & Wales University, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Administration. He fell in love with the city and never looked back.

Tobey began his career in the hospitality industry at the Back Bay Restaurant Group He remained a resident of Providence while managing one of their restaurants in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts. In 1999, Tobey was promoted opening General Manager of Joe’s American Bar & Grill in Providence. Later, he moved on to Manager of the Capital Grille, also in Providence. Now, as the Senior General Manager of Hemenway’s Seafood Grill & Oyster Bar, Tobey oversees one of the city's busiest restaurants.

Tobey sits on the Board of Directors for the Rhode Island Hospitality Education Foundation and is active with many area non-profits, including the Ronald McDonald House, which helps to improve the lives of hospitalized children and their families.
