Hemenway’s host the 9th-annual Oyster Festival to benefit new partner Save The Bay

Hemenway’s Seafood Grill & Oyster Bar, located at 121 South Main Street in Providence, is pleased to announce that it will again host the Oyster Festival, with proceeds now benefiting Save The Bay, on Saturday, September 21 from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in Market Square Park, adjacent to Hemenway’s. The festival will include oyster varietals along with other culinary delights provided by Hemenway’s and Waterman Grille.  The festival will also feature entertainment from a local steel-drum band and other family-friendly activities, including a Save The Bay sea creature petting area.

“We’re very excited to have a new partner in Save The Bay. Our focus on providing our guests and festival goers with fresh local seafood aligns perfectly with Save The Bay’s mission of protecting and improving the ecological health of Narragansett Bay,” said Tobey Sanborn, Senior General Manager of Hemenway’s.  Jonathan Stone, Executive Director of Save the Bay, added, “We are honored to work with Hemenway’s, it is only with the extremely generous support of organizations that we are able to help provide people with a cleaner, healthier Narragansett Bay.” Hemenway’s looks to exceed last year’s total donation of $7,600 with proceeds directly benefiting Save The Bay’s Beach Slam on September 22 at Goddard Memorial State Park in Warwick, R.I. The restaurant team thanks its generous purveyors for donating much of the food and the volunteers helping with the festival.
